Cohost: a site created by the Anti Software Club. Yup. I understand that reference lol. You're telling me commies won't open source their code with a copyleft license? Sounds very neolib to me. :) You're you're telling me commie larpers don't know how to manage money. :)
You know, Herman, Bear's creator and BDFL, has this site's code up in a public git repo. Even if this is more of a platform and not meant to self-host, this is a really cool gesture by a really cool person. (I think) Herman does all the moderating too. The rules aren't political and seem to work out to “don't be an asshole“, as opposed to Cohost's overly emotional and political TOS.
Oh yeah, I would totally consider Herman a BDFL (Benevolent Dictator for Life). Wouldn't be the first time commies wound up in a dictatorship. :) BDFL is a Linux-y term for a nerd who works on a project a project until they either die or get bored. Really hoping Herman dies before he gets bored - not like right not. Maybe several decades from now. Peacefully. For the record, I do not want a robo Herman to run this place. Same goes for Cyber Herman. Sorry, choom.
Fr, Idk why they decided to reinvent the wheel with all new tech instead of using Mastodon as a base. They could have chose not Federate and used the same walled garden approach as (throws up a little in mouth and gags) Gab. They could have heavily customized it. Probably would have saved on dev costs. This is just some be asshole's speculation. I could be very, very wrong... but I reserve the right to be smug about things I kind of sort of half understand. :)
Am I supposed to capitalize cohost? Is it like 4chan where you can tell people don't use imageboards when they captilize the C in 4chan? Are you extra cool if you don't capitalize the C and also add the exclamation point? Lemme try. Here goes.

Sorry, cohost commies, for calling you cohost commies. I have some token commie frens. I also don't uphold many of my core beliefs of principles. I also wish rich people would spontaneously burst into flames (no, really, fuck 99.999% of rich people).
