If you're the kind of person who yells at call center support agents, go fuck yourself. Yes, this is a reaction post. People who work at call centers have little to no autonomy. Same goes for their supervisors. Oh, you "haggled" with a call center agent to lower your ISP bill? No, you harassed them. You kept them on the phone long enough until several of their supervisors agreed to lower your bill to get you off the phone so that their understaffed agents can slog to the next call after exactly 1 minute of "aftercall" status (if they're lucky) to finish up their ticket.
Boo fucking hoo, you had to schedule service while on the call. Yeah, I doubt they'd be able to offer you the same "get off of our crowded phone lines" deal otherwise. That doesn't give you the right to tell off their staff - someone who is recorded by their employer, someone who isn't allowed to hang up on you or return any of your insults. You, a privileged customer, are eroding away at a faceless worker's humanity, little by little. THEY HAVE TO FUCKING SIT THEIR WITH A PLEASANT TONE, APOLOGIZING, AND PRETEND LIKE EVERYTHING IS OK WHILE YOU SHIT ON THEM. FUCK YOU.
SPEAKING OF SHIT: You can't get up and take a shit without a timer running stating that you're on a shit break. Oh ho ho, and if you take an unscheduled shit... be prepared to switch on the dreaded unscheduled shit status. That unscheduled shit status could get your ass fired. Tying up a call center agent hurts their numbers.
If you couldn't tell, I've been stuck working call centers before. Ya gotta survive somehow. They taught me how to be fake, which seems to be an oddly handy skill to have in IT.
